                 We had the author Tony Bradman visit our school today.  He shared his stories with us.  He met every class and then stayed for a book signing.  the children were so excited and inspired by him.  It was lovely welcoming visitors back into school. #Inspiration

A visit to the British Museum

The children in Year 3 and 4 visited the British Museum today.  They have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons and were able to see study artefacts in detail, looking for different patterns and designs, making links between objects and crafts and considering why certain materials have survived better than others.

Autumn Woodland Walk for The Nest

Today The Nest went for a woodland walk to the local woods.  They looked at the changes that were happening around them.  they noticed the leaves had changed colours and were starting to fall from the trees.  We spotted a badger or fox hole.  A fun enriching visit but very muddy!

EYFS and KS1 Drama Workshop

Exploring the Sound Studio

The children in The Burrow and Little Owls class were introduced to the new Sound Studio.  They enjoyed exploring the different instruments and the sounds their made.  We also had a marching band!

Whatever Next!

Guess which story we have been learning in Little Owls this week?  We have enjoyed listening to ‘Whatever Next’ and going in a space rocket to the moon for a picnic.  Some of the children found out it takes up to four days to get to the moon.

Exploring Sunflowers in The Burrow

We discovered a sunflower head in our outside area.  The children explored the flower head with the magnifying glasses and found ‘loads of seeds’.  They explored the seeds with the tweezers and drew pictures of the flower head.

Swimming is back at Gilbert Scott Outdoor Pool

We have been enjoying the sunshine and returning to our weekly swimming lessons.  We are very fortunate to have our own swimming pool and we can use it in the summer months and in the first half of the Autumn term.  Loots of fun splashing around and learning how to swim.
