One of our Year 2 Enhanced Learning Provision pupils painted a landscape in the style of Van Gogh adding detail with thick brush strokes. When asked why the child was holding their ear, they responded “I am pretending to be Van Gogh holding my cut off ear!”
The pupils in Year One have been learning about toys. They drew toys from observation and they were particularly interested in robots. They then went onto look at Eric Joyner’s robot paintings. The pupils created their own robots using clay.
Year 3 and 4 enjoyed some American fun this week – linked to their topic – Road Trip USA.In Art they made American flags, in PE they played American Football. They also learnt how to line dance, finished off with a delicious hotdog !
The pupils in Little Owls had an enjoyable visit to Godstone Farm today. They learnt about the different farm animals and particularly liked the piglets. They have been learning about how to care for different animals and held a rabbit, guinea pig and stick insect.
A huge congratulations goes to the Gilbert Scott girls football team for winning the league this year.They continued the success of our previous girls team, making this the third season in a row that the GSP girls have been league champions.
A great day at Battle Abbey with the 4 class, despite the rain. Made possible by the Quest Academy helping us with minibuses and a driver. Such good experiences for our children which English Heritage made it all so real.
Year 3 and 4 have been studying the artist Vincent Scarpace. He is an American artist. His work is regarded as colourful, imaginative and original. The pupils made observational drawings of fish (bit stinky!). They also explored using carbon paper to draw. They then designed and created their own inspired fishy art piece.
