Billy’s Bucket
We have been focusing on the story Billy’s Bucket. We pretended to go deep sea diving in Billy’s bucket and described the different sea creatures. We then made a non-fiction book about sea creatures. We received a letter from Billy asking Little Owls to find a new bucket that holds a larger capacity of water. The children explored different containers, estimated how many capfuls will fill it and then measured. Two of the children noticed markings on the side of the jug and were very inquisitive. We then measured using millilitres. We worked out that the cone held the largest capacity of water.
